It’s Time For The Annual Thanksgiving Extravaganza At Go Get Em Turkey (er, Tiger)

The holidays are a time for traditions. In the world of specialty coffee, an enduring late November tradition is the Go Get Em Tiger Thanksgiving menu. This one-day-only menu experience has historically featured some very fun and very festive beverages, and reporting on it dutifully during the week before Turkey Day has also become something of a tradition for us here at Sprudge.

Now, many cafes have a fall drinks menu, or even a Thanksgiving menu, but what makes GGET’s so special is that it is only available on Thanksgiving day. When most cafes are closed, Go Get Em Tiger keeps one of their Los Angeles cafes open—this year the Los Feliz shop between 8:00am and 2:00pm—to serve those who may not have holiday plans otherwise, or for whom the GGET drink experience has become its own sort of cherished annual to-do.

For this, its 10th year in business, GGET is pulling out all the stops with seven festive drink options for those able to make it. Drinks include an egg nog trio (classic, matcha, and espresso) and the gingerbread latte, consisting of a malted ice cream shake with espresso, house-made gingerbread cookie crumble, and candied ginger, topped with a torched molasses Swiss meringue and a whole ginger cookie. There’s the peppermint mocha with homemade almond-macadamia nut milk, a Cometeer frozen coffee pod, a star mint ice cube, and frozen chocolate ganache. And of course, there’s the toffy nut latte, “a latte with toffee ‘noodles,’ our housemade almond-macadamia milk, and instant coffee from our pals at Swift Coffee.”

There’s also an elevated pumpkin spice latte, a persimmon hop fizz tea, and a classic apple cider steeped with warming mulling spices.

The Go Get Em Tiger Thanksgiving Service takes place on Thanksgiving, November 24th, between 8:00am and 2:00pm at the Los Feliz location. If you are planning on attending, make sure to RSVP for free via Eventbrite to let them know you’re coming, because the lines have been known to reach Howlin’ Rays proportions in years past (this is a Los Angeles reference). For more information, visit GGET’s official website.
