When talking about ice cream, you can’t mention the greats without Haagen Dazs. This legend in the frozen treat world has been around since 1960 and is synonymous with amazing flavor. One of the oldest flavors, and most popular is their coffee ice cream. Made with the essence of Brazilian coffee beans that are perfectly brewed, this frozen treat is a fan favorite of coffee drinkers around the world.

While Haagen Dazs coffee ice cream is an enjoyable treat, you may be curious as to the amount of caffeine found inside. For those who enjoy caffeine throughout the day, don’t worry. You’ll be pleased to know Haagen Dazs coffee ice cream only has 19 mg of caffeine in an entire 1-pint tub.

Let’s learn more about this tasty ice cream, where the caffeine inside comes from, and how its caffeine levels compare to other popular coffee ice creams on the market.

A Bit About Haagen Dazs

You can’t discuss Haagen Dazs coffee ice cream without taking a look at the company itself. It all started with a man named Ruben Mattus. At only 10 years old he took a job helping his uncle as he sold frozen lemon treats. This small business eventually expanded and became known as Senator Frozen Products. Unfortunately, the business didn’t make it, but that didn’t stop Ruben. Instead, 30 years later, he and his wife, Rose, decided to change the company name and try once again to sell their uniquely crafted ice cream.

In 1960, Ruben came up with the name Haagen Dazs and the legend was born in the Bronx, New York. In the beginning, Haagen Dazs offered 3 flavors vanilla, chocolate, and their popular coffee ice cream. With these 3 flavors, the company began to flourish and become a household name thanks in part to their daughter who opened their first store in 1976.

The Caffeine in Haagen Dazs

For those who are curious, yes, Haagen Dazs coffee ice cream is made with genuine coffee. In fact, they use perfectly brewed Brazilian beans to reach the delectable flavor. The 19 mg of caffeine found in one tub, or pint, of this ice cream is considered low and similar to the amount you’d find in a cup of instant coffee made in the comfort of your own home. Here’s a look at how Haagen Dazs compares to some of your favorite coffee-infused beverages.

Haagen Dazs Ice Cream 19 mg of caffeine per pint
Regular brewed coffee 95 mg of caffeine per 8-ounce serving
Instant coffee 57 mg of caffeine per 8-ounce serving
